UPS Announces the 2023 Increase Price, taking effect on December 27
Global delivery giant UPS recently announced that it will increase its published freight rate (GRI) by 6.9% in 2023.
This matches the amplitude modulation depth that its competitor FedEx announced last month.
The UPS price increase will take effect on December 27, one week before the FedEx price increase.
UPS said the increase applies to its U.S. air and ground transportation services, as well as international services.
Industry insiders expect the two express delivery companies to increase their GRI by at least 6% in 2023 to offset the impact of rising costs. There has been speculation that UPS may be a little less than Fedex on GRI adjustments to grab market share. But in the end UPS opted for a rate increase that matched Fedex.
The price will be increased when foreign traders send samples.
